Culcheth Tennis Club is a part of the larger Culcheth Sports and Social Club (The Daten) which has one of the biggest facilities of its type in the North West of England. The club offers a wide range of sports and leisure opportunities together with a large bar and catering facilities.
The club is located near the centre of Culcheth on the north side of Warrington in Cheshire.
The tennis club has recently gained Clubmark Status, and as a part of this initiative, appointed two club coaches in 2010/11. The new coaches will not only provide coaching for current members, but will be working with local primary schools to find and attract new junior talent at all levels from Mini red upwards.
We were recently very pleased to learn that we would be awarded a grant from Sport England for new floodlights for all four of our courts, and these were installed in March 2012. These will be especially important as they will enable the coaches to work with juniors all the year round as well as lengthening our season so our members get better value from their membership.
